HISTORY AND PORTRAIT OF A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER
ABOUT ITALIAN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER NINO LOMBARDO
Non-profit initiatives, publications, photographic exhibitions: the professional career of the internationally recognized Sicilian photographer through his personal experiences, collaborations, associations and awards.
Welcome to my website,
I'm Nino Lombardo, wedding photographer since the beginning of my career.
Three of my fundamental summits in my life: family, work, travel.
I love my Sicily, the wind that characterizes Trapani, the sun and the sea. I recognize that I am lucky to photograph happy people on unforgettable days. Mine is an important responsibility: to talk about marriage with a photo shoot where you have to capture the unrepeatable moment of a unique day in life.
The style I use is that journalistic photo, of reportage, a style much appreciated, especially by fans of good photography. For some years now I have been receiving great stimuli from entering the most important world trade associations and from international weddings that take me away from my Sicily and make me travel to other cities, other nations, other cultures. Because I don't only look at the lens, but always ahead: my photographic training is constantly evolving.
My experience, how about Italian wedding photographer, began in the 1980s and in 1997 I opened Trapani, my Photographic Studio, on the coast of western Sicily.
THE PHOTOGRAPHER FOR WEDDINGS IN SICILY
More and more destination weddings in Sicily and in the small Aeolian Islands, Egadi, Pantelleria and Lampedusa. I have photographic stories of weddings and engagement all over Sicily. In Agrigento, Palermo, Trapani, Sciacca, Capaci, Marsala, San Vito Lo Capo, Cianciana, Bivona, Photographer for Wedding in Castelmola, Segesta, Marzamemi, Piazza Armerina, Egadi Islands, Cefalù, Modica, Taormina, Menfi, Wedding Photographer for Photoshoot in Scopello, Castellammare del Golfo … I’m used to to travel in Italy and around the world to create wedding photo shoots that portray new landscapes and emotions.
MY REPORTAGE OF WEDDING IN ITALY
I don’t limit myself to my Sicily. I made wedding photo shoots in Liguria in Camogli; in the Veneto region of Venice; in Lombardy, Milan, Pavia, Cernobbio on Lake Como; in Emilia Romagna in Reggio nell’Emilia; in Chieti in Abruzzo; in Piedmont on the Island of San Giulio in Lake Orta.
MY WEDDING REPORTAGES IN THE WORLD
Weddings all over the world are becoming more and more frequent. For example, I was in India in New Delhi for a Hindu wedding photo shoot. A civil wedding photo shoot in Amsterdam, the Netherlands at the luxurious The Grand Sofitel Legend. Also in France I photographed a beautiful couple in love in Paris. I have photographed weddings of various cultures and with various rituals. In the Municipality with a civil ceremony, by the sea, by the lake or in a castle. Religious weddings, in church with Catholic, Anglican, Evangelical, mixed European and Persian rites, Hindu rite, Protestant rite.
A biography of weddings photographed in many places, a biography that I love to enrich with splendid reportages for unique weddings in spectacular places.

INITIATIVES NO-PROFIT AND COLLABORATIONS
“We, little protagonists”. I created this volume for charity, the proceeds were in fact donated to
Vincentian Volunteer Team of Trapani. I immersed myself in photographing children in a nursery school, managing to become almost one of them and capture their daily spontaneity. Children who helped other children. The photographs are accompanied by texts written by children and parents.
“A click of black and white”. Photographic competition conceived and realized with Gaspare Grammatico. The winners were the protagonists of 3 calendars whose proceeds were used for the remote adoption of 3 Madagascar children through the association “Trapani for the third world non-profit organization”.
“Lo Scatto de L’Aquila”. Initiative realized with Gaspare Grammatico, Roberto Grillo and Marianna Santoni in collaboration with Nital, Nikon life, in favor of the Aquila fellow photographers who suffered the earthquake. It was a singular non-profit educational event that took place in L’Aquila on January 24th and April 11th 2010, to help photographers of the earthquake-stricken city with donations and equipment and with the creation of “Lo Spazio del Ricordo” a project to testify and not forget what happened.
Since 2016 I am the only photographer in Sicily for Flytographer, international agency for travelers looking for photographers for engagement, marriage proposal and vacation photos. Since 2006 to 2012 they are an integral part of Marianna Santoni’s team. I took care of all the relations with the sponsors and the logistics of many courses, events and workshops. Now I work with Marianna especially in the field of photo shoots. Together with Gaspare Grammatico I designed many of the most innovative training events and projects carried out by the entire team in those years.

From Milan to San Francisco. Telling my land with very personal and unpublished traits, I brought the emotions of Sicily into the world. Briny scent, intense colors, seascapes: in my photos I reinterpreted the nature of my Sicily. And then the religious traditions, the secular constructions, the weddings and the common faces are the subjects of my exhibitions, in which I collect the shots of my numerous photographic reports.

I love the technique of printing on canvas: I find it perfect to transfer the transience of an image onto an eternal support. It is a technique I have been using since 1999 for my prints, which transform a photograph into an author's picture.
I like to "read" every event and place in a personal way: weddings, sporting and religious events, panoramic views, sunsets, the sea.
